Every week, the Pambazuka News team compiles a comprehensive, list of links to online information available on news and research sites. We started this service in 1998 in response to requests we were receiving from human rights and civil society organisations in Africa to assist them in finding information on the web and with disseminating information about their own work.
This links and resources section provides updates on what is happening around Africa and over the years has developed into a rich archive of information. It is divided into categories that reflect the subjects that are of primary interest to the human rights and social justice movements in Africa.
In line with the principle of Fair Use, all the information contained in the section is correctly attributed to its source but freely available for public use. Where important information is only available for a fee or through a subscription service, no effort is spared in arranging for free access to the public
The links and resources section strives to provide free and permanent access to research reports and other important documents. In order to achieve this, every effort is made to ensure that the links provided remain active and that the websites are only those that are widely accepted and credible sources of development information. The success of these efforts is evidenced by the regular flow of feedback received from users.
The section also provides regular updates on the work of civil society organisations across the continent, allowing them to keep readers informed about their work.
The section is fully interactive in the sense that users are encouraged to submit any information that needs to reach a wider audience. This information is categorised under the sections Courses, Seminars and Workshops, Fundraising and Useful resources, Jobs.
The section also provides access to the Pambazuka News Del.icio.us site, a continually growing online database of important source sites that are referenced every week by the news team. User access to this database not only ensures that our news gathering process remains transparent but only allows our readers to participate in the process by suggesting and sharing links to other sources of information.
